Republic of Ireland Flag



The National flag of the Republic of Ireland is a vertical tricolour of green , white, and orange. The green is representative of the older Gaelic tradition while the orange represents the supporters of William of Orange. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_III_of_England
The white in the centre signifies a lasting truce between the two cultures.
La bandera nacional de la República de Irlanda es vertical tricolor: verde, blanca y naranja. El verde es representativo de la antigua tradición Gaélica mientras que el naranja representa a los seguidores de Guillermo de Orange.
La blanca, en el centro, significa una tregua duradera entre las dos culturas.

Eire Provinces


The Republic of Ireland (Eire) is subdivided into 4 provinces:
Munster, Leinster, Meath, Connacht and part of the Ulster.
La República de Irlanda está subdividida en 4 provincias: Munster, Leinster, Connacht y parte del Ulster.

The 26 counties of Ireland constitute the Irish Republic, Eire.

The island of Ireland has two distinct jurisdictions:
Ireland, a sovereign state, covers five sixths of the island. Its capital is Dublin.
Northern Ireland, part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain , covers the remaining sixth. Its capital is Belfast.
La isla de Irlanda tiene dos jurisdicciones diferenciadas:
Irlanda, un estado soberano, cubre cinco sextos de la isla. Su capita es Dublín.
Irlanda del Norte, parte del Reino Unido de Gran Bretaña , cubre el sexto restante. Su capital es Belfast.
